Abstract

The article deals with the issue related to the review of the program in a number of foreign countries. The article presents approaches to the renovation of residential buildings in foreign countries: prerequisites of the need for renovation, methods of implementation, and results. The presented review of housing stock renovation programs traces the evolution of approaches and methods used in different countries to cope with the problems of dilapidation and inefficiency of the existing housing stock. Key aspects including financing, government involvement, ownership issues, and the introduction of modern renovation technologies and techniques are examined. Renovation programs in different countries reflect the diversity of approaches to housing stock renewal and range from partial modernization to complete replacement of old buildings with new ones. Highlighting successful examples of such programs in cities such as Paris, Tokyo and Rio de Janeiro underscores the importance of studying global experience and applying the most effective practices to improve the housing sector and ensure a better quality of life for citizens. This review is a valuable resource for policy makers, urban planners and researchers interested in addressing the challenges of housing and sustainable urban development. In the article, the author reviews the basic principles of renovation in a number of foreign countries. The historical experience of renovation, options for implementation of urban renewal are analyzed. The renovation program was implemented in many cities and countries (USA, Brazil, Japan, Germany, France).
