Abstract

The development of the digital economy creates both problems and opportunities, transforming the traditional economic structure, actually globalising economic processes, being a contradiction to the national sovereignty of the economy, which implies monitoring changes in order to control and manage them. The object of the study is the global economy. The subject of the study is the digital economy. The aim of the study is to examine how digitalisation affects traditional economic structures. The article argues that the digitalisation of the economy has led to fundamental changes within the business sphere and has also changed the way consumers act, therefore the digital economy has become an integral part of the global economic structure, but one of the most significant disadvantages of the digital economy is the existence of the digital divide, this is the gap between those who have access to modern technology and those who are deprived of this opportunity, which deepens the differentiation of social well-being between the different strata of society
