Abstract

This study examines economic knowledge from the standpoint of truth and validity. The theoretical significance of the research lies in the fact that economic knowledge forms economic policy, the consequences of which directly affect the well–being of all aspects of society, hence the validity and truth of economic knowledge is the most important task of scientific research. The object of research is knowledge as a result of human cognitive activity. The subject of the study is economic knowledge, characterized by truth and validity. The purpose of the study is to reveal the substantive aspects of the validity and truth of economic knowledge within the framework of the fundamental theories of scientific knowledge and logical reasoning. In this study, the internalist and externalist theories of scientific knowledge are considered, evedentialism and relayabilism are considered within the framework of these theories. The logical justification of economic knowledge and the content of the regression problem are presented. The fundamental theories of justification are considered: fundamentalism, coherence, infinitism. Practical examples of statements and provisions of economic knowledge are given. The methodology of scientific research is an epistemological approach to the study of economic knowledge. The result of the study is a reasonable conclusion about the existence of contradictions in the fundamental theories of scientific knowledge and logical reasoning. Presentation of the concept of pragmatism as a theory of scientific knowledge and logical justification that resolves the contradictions of fundamental theories.
