Abstract

In the current complex geopolitical conditions, many problems of development of industry markets have become relevant. World agricultural markets experience increased volatility, including price volatility, which is determined by both specific factors of industry development and exogenous reasons associated with the instability of the global economy as a whole. Our study analyzes and summarizes the key factors and risks of formation and dynamics of world prices for products of the agro-industrial complex (AIC). In particular, the issues of elasticity of demand and supply for agricultural products are discussed, the factors of volatility of world prices for this group of goods are established, the current role of non-tariff instruments for regulating foreign trade in setting import prices for agricultural products is shown. It is established that the dynamics of world prices in the world agricultural markets will remain uncertain in the short term, which creates new problems of access for the least developed countries to agricultural products, as well as problems of global food security, the achievement of which does not correspond to the Sustainable Development Goals.
