Abstract

The regulation, development and implementation of technical means of injury prevention to reduce the number of accidents and injuries at work, in the case of applied effectiveness, has a positive impact on the health of the workforce. The relevance of the study is that these benefits carry with them associated costs and in real world conditions, increased expenditure on safety improvements will lead to higher prices and lower sales in competitive global markets, which may encourage employers to deviate from regulations. The object of the study is the production system. The subject of the study – social and economic aspects of injury risk in the production system. The purpose of the research is to reveal social and economic prerequisites for the development of technical means of injury hazard prevention. The use of methods of economic evaluation of technical means implementation in production is well known, although their use in professional labor activity is limited. Paradoxically, they are used too infrequently and as a consequence, investments are determined stochastically rather than by careful measurement within a coherent analytical framework of the production system.
