Abstract

Environmental and social sustainability standards are introduced to ensure that economic agents conduct their activities in an environmentally responsible manner and contribute to social well-being. The concept of sustainability is gaining relevance as society is becoming increasingly aware of the negative impact of human activities on the environment and social space. The object of the study is sustainability as a concept of national and social development. The subject of the study is social and environmental sustainability. The purpose of the study is to reveal the content of social and environmental sustainability as complex categories. Economic and social sustainability are integral parts of sustainable development, as their harmonious interaction contributes to the creation of a more equitable and prosperous future for all. The concept of sustainable development emphasizes the importance of harmoniously combining the solution of social and economic problems with the preservation of the natural environment, it is this concept that underlies the need for environmental and social sustainability.
