This study examines a relatively new concept for Russia, the concept of a green economy and the implementation of its elements in the economic complex of the country. The object of the research is the concept of green economy and sustainable development as the main mechanism of social and economic changes in the concept of green economy. The subject of the study is the socio-economic space of Russia and the manifestation of the principles of the green economy in it. The concept of green economy in foreign practice is not a new field of economic knowledge (the middle of the last century). The novelty of this concept in Russia is explained by lower level of integration of national economic systems into world economic systems. At the same time, the importance of the content of the states of the green economy and sustainable development cannot be underestimated.
