Abstract

Global value chains involve the implementation and sequencing of activities carried out by multinational companies from the inception of a product to its end use and further support: design, production, marketing, distribution and service to the final consumer. The relevance of the study lies in the fact that in the context of increasing digitalization of economic processes, the global value chain is becoming the most important factor in the competitiveness of a multinational company. The object of research is the world economy. The subject of the study is multinational enterprises. The purpose of the study is to theoretically analyze the content of global value chains within the strategies of multinational enterprises. The article argues that the various stages of the value chain can be carried out either within a single enterprise or distributed among various multinational companies whose activities are aimed at producing goods or providing services and can cover both limited geographical areas and extend over wider territories.
