Abstract

The purpose of this article is to develop a methodological approach that provides an objective assessment of the level of regional economic security to solve the problem of managing this indicator of regional economic development. The relevance of the problem raised is that in modern economic and military-political conditions the problems of assessing the level of regional economic security are becoming more urgent, which forms an idea of the factors that affect the given state of the economic system and make it difficult to solve the problems of regional socio-economic development.The author points out that “regional economic security” is a state of security of the regional economy, allowing the region to successfully solve the problems of regional socio-economic development, industrial policy, investment policy, personnel policy, as well as ensure effective interaction with other regional economic systems and the macrosystem state economy. At the same time, the most important principle of modern economic development, directly related to the problem of economic security, is that the economic stability of regional economies forms an overall level of economic stability, which ensures the economic security of the state; the higher the level of regional economic sustainability, the more secure and stable the economic situation in the state is.It is concluded that a new approach to the formation of a regional economy is currently required, when each region must become a self-sufficient economic unit, and the methodology proposed in the article contributes to solving this problem, since it allows for constant monitoring of regional development.
