Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the needs of Russian enterprises in the professional competencies of experts in the field of information technology and information systems. The growing trend in the ubiquitousness  of information and communication technologies, the gradual digitization of business systems, as well as digital transformational changes in the economic activity of Russian enterprises lead to an increase in the labor market demand for highly qualified personnel in the field of information technology. This trend emphasizes the need for professional training in the field of information technology and information systems at a high level. The aim of the study is to analyze the needs of the labor market for specialists in the field of information technology and information systems at the present stage and determine the possibility of meeting it through the training of graduates in universities in information technology areas. The labor market in the field of information technologies and information systems is considered as the object of the study, and the subject of the study is the process of professional training of specialists in this field. The scientific hypothesis is to determine the relationship among three objects - an educational institution that trains IT personnel; IT companies as employers of graduates; the labor market, which takes away the surplus of specialists trained in this period and makes up for the shortage of personnel. The analysis of labor market statistics was carried out on the basis of the study of scientific works of scientists, indicators of official statistics, and the legal framework. It is argued that the widespread use of digital technological solutions in business processes is directly related to the issue of professional competencies of specialists in the field of information technology and information systems. The study identifies the most demanded categories of specialists in this industry and their professional standards, identifies the main trends in the labor market in the field of information technology, and conducts a statistical analysis of indicators of the digital economy in the category of professions in this area. A balance model is presented for forecasting demand and supply for specialists in the field of information technology and information systems in terms of retaining and replenishing personnel in the labor market. The key indicators and the possibilities of its implementation in the dynamic forecasting environment are highlighted.
