Abstract

The concept of “economic man” implies a market approach to substantiating the motives and decisions of an economic agent that do not provide humanistic traditions in their essential basis. In this study, a person is considered as a subject of economic, social activity in the market conditions of the capitalist economic system, but motives and actions of the person are conditioned by education and labor activity within the framework of the concept of the great Russian researcher and teacher Makarenko Anton Semenovich. The relevance of the research is objectified by modern economic conditions, when a modern economic person, acting as an economic agent, pursues the goal of maximizing profits in a competitive environment, while distorting (ignoring) the moral aspect of his actions. The object of the study is the paradigm of the subject of economic activity in the economic sciences. The subject of the study is a theoretical model of a person who has a sign of economic activity (a subject of economic activity) within the framework of the concept of A. S. Makarenko. The purpose of the study is to present a theoretical model of economic man, which is a meaningful antagonist of the generally accepted model of economic man by Adam Smith in a similar system and economic conditions. Research methodology – general scientific methods of theoretical analysis of economic and pedagogical knowledge were used. Research results: 1. A meaningful description of the theoretical model of economic man within the framework of A. Smith’s concept is presented; 2. The author presents his own theoretical image of an economically active person within the framework of the pedagogical concept of A. S. Makarenko; 3. A theoretical comparative analysis of two conceptual models of an economic person is presented, highlighting the advantages and disadvantages of each model.
